1.8 Conclusion

Going through a separation or divorce is difficult. It’s emotional, confusing and stressful. It’s not easy dealing with your former spouse to reach an agreement about key issues to help you both move forward with separate lives. You may have to work out parenting arrangements, child support, spousal support, and dividing your property.

This online course can help.

In the first chapter, we looked at the big picture, reaching an agreement, going to court, who can help and ways to take care of yourself as you try to work things out. While you go through the rest of this course, remember to check back on your Goal Setting Worksheet and your Health-Check Questionnaire.

In the next chapter, we will examine the major issues that separating couples face. You will learn about your legal rights and responsibilities as a former spouse and as a parent.
