7.0 Introduction

This chapter will help you improve your legal skills and build your case.  Before you start filing court forms and going to court, you need to figure out what your case is about. You already know the areas of conflict between you and your former spouse. In this chapter, you will learn about making legal arguments to support your position.

To do this, you’ll need to learn a few basic legal skills. You need to know how to conduct legal research and how to organize your evidence. You need to understand parts of the law and how the law applies to the facts of your case. With these skills, you’ll be able to start building your legal case. This chapter will take you through a step by step guide to building your case.
